Canva for Beginners Course This 6 week course is ideal for anyone who wants to create marketing materials, social media content, simple websites, presentations & videos using Canva. No previous experience is needed, just curiosity & a laptop. Who this course is for Perfect for small business owners who want to design their own branding, anyone wishing to improve digital confidence, or those curious about Canva. You will learn in a friendly judgement free space where questions are encouraged and experimentation is celebrated! Course Content Week 1: Getting Started Navigating Canva, uploading assets, exploring templates, file formats, basic photo editing. Week 2: Flyers and Posters Layout, alignment, hierarchy, colour choices, grids, adding illustrations & icons. Week 3: Presentations Structuring content, using transitions, animations, collaboration & exporting slides. Week 4: Simple Websites Using Canva Websites, working with sections, links, multimedia, checking responsiveness, publishing. Week 5: Video Creation Trimming clips, using stock content, adding text and transitions, exporting for platforms. Week 6: Social Media Design Designing for Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, resizing tools, creating templates, scheduling posts. By the end of the course you will be able to ● Navigate Canva confidently ● Apply clear design principles ● Create digital and print assets ● Build basic websites and videos ● Design branded social media content Course Overview Duration: 6 weeks Time: 6:30pm to 8:30pm Starts: 15th Sept- 20th Oct 2026 Bring: Your own laptop Location: Bus Stop Studios, St Leonards on Sea Price: £120 Sarah is a creative facilitator and project manager with over ten years of experience supporting communities and creatives. They bring a practical hands on approach to digital design, drawing on work across charities, grassroots organisations and creative industries in London and Hastings. Their teaching focuses on confidence building, practical learning and helping people use Canva to bring ideas to life. We keep our class sizes small to make sure everyone receives plenty of support, this course is limited to 8 people. We know that cost can sometimes be a barrier, so we offer a small number of lower income places on selected courses where we can. Terms & Conditions for Class Bookings Most of our classes are designed for adults. If you are unsure whether a class is suitable, please contact us before booking. Bookings & Payments - Classes, workshops and events can be booked via our website or in person at Bus Stop Studios, 53 London Road, St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex TN37 6AY. - Bookings are first come, first served. - Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place. (please see below for payment options) - A booking confirmation will be sent by email once payment has been processed. Pricing & Supported Places - As a small independent business, our class fees help cover running costs, tutor pay, preparation time and associated expenses. - We may offer 1-2 lower income or supported places on selected courses, subject to availability. - These must be requested by email before booking and are offered at our discretion. - If the cost of a longer course feels difficult to manage, please contact us before booking and we may be able to discuss options such as a payment plan. Materials - Materials and tools vary by class. Please check the course description for details. Cancellations & Changes - Bookings are non-refundable. - Transfers are usually not possible due to small class sizes. - With at least 14 days' notice, we may be able to offer a transfer or credit note, subject to availability. - With 7 days' notice, we may be able to offer an alternative date, but this is not guaranteed. -If you cannot attend, you may send someone else in your place. Please let us know their name before the class. Cancellations by Us - If we need to cancel a class, workshop or event, you will receive a full refund. - Our liability is limited to the cost of the class only. Insurance & Copyright - Bus Stop Studios is fully insured for all classes and workshops, and all tutors hold their own Public Liability Insurance. - Course content, handouts, photography and designs are for personal use only and may not be copied, shared or used for teaching or commercial purposes without written permission. Photography - We may occasionally take photographs during classes for marketing or social media. - We will always ask permission before taking or using identifiable images. - Please let us know in advance if you have any concerns about photography.
