This beginner friendly workshop taught by embroidery tutor Amy Burt introduces you to the core techniques of blackwork, a counted thread style known for its crisp lines, repeating patterns & geometric fills. Blackwork is sometimes also known as Spanish work. It became fashionable in England during the Tudor period, influenced by Spanish textiles & popularised through Catherine of Aragon’s Spanish court.
