Intro to Jacobean Crewelwork Embroidery Course with Becky Hogg Step into the decorative world of Jacobean crewelwork, a style of embroidery known for flowing vines, playful animals, bold florals & expressive stitches. Originating in the seventeenth century & traditionally worked in wool, Jacobean embroidery is rich, lively & full of character, focusing less on rules & more on texture, colour & movement. This four part course offers a relaxed introduction to Jacobean crewelwork, ideal for anyone curious about traditional embroidery with a contemporary approach. You will learn a range of core stitches, explore how they work together within a design & build confidence through guided practice. While staying true to the spirit of crewelwork, we will be stitching with beautiful DMC Eco Vita wool threads, bringing a sustainable twist to this historic technique. This course will run with a smaller group than our usual classes due to the nature of the technique & the specialist materials used, allowing for a slower pace & more individual guidance. Suitable for beginners as well as those with some embroidery experience who would like to expand their stitch vocabulary & enjoy a focused hand stitching project. Lino Printing Course with Nicolette Tabram Join award winning designer and tutor Nicolette Tabram for a four part Lino Printing course, running weekly on Friday mornings. This engaging course is perfect for anyone interested in exploring printmaking techniques in a relaxed and supportive environment. Suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some previous experience, the sessions will build your confidence and introduce you to a range of creative approaches. Across four sessions you will learn step by step how to design, carve and print your own lino blocks, experimenting with pattern, texture and colour. You will explore how to build up layered prints and use a variety of colour to create depth and interest in your designs. Nicolette will guide you throughout, offering practical advice and professional insight. There will be time to develop your ideas week by week, with opportunities to create prints to take home. Paper Floristry Rose Workshop with Laura Reed Award winning designer maker Laura Reed returns to Bus Stop Studios for another beautiful paper floristry workshop. This special session focuses on crafting paper roses, making it a perfect Valentine’s Day gift, either as a finished flower or as the class itself, or simply a lovely creative afternoon for you. The rose making techniques mirror those taught in last year’s paper floristry course, which means this workshop works both as a follow on for returning students and as a complete stand alone introduction for beginners. The class was created in response to the number of requests Laura received from students wanting to explore roses in more depth. You can expect to leave with at least two completed stems and the skills to continue paper floristry at home. We will make one flower together, then you will have time to explore Laura’s extensive paper stash and create your own rose in a range of colours and textures. Laura will be on hand throughout to guide you and answer questions. All of Laura’s workshops are suitable for beginners and all materials and tools will be provided on the day. Just come as you are. Bullet Journaling for Beginners with Felix Ford of Knitsonik Start the New Year with a creative, supportive introduction to bullet journaling. In this three hour class you will explore playful approaches to using a dot grid journal with stamps, ink pads, washi tape and pens. Felix’s style prioritises curiosity, self care and joy, helping you create a journal that feels like a supportive companion rather than a productivity tool rather than something that adds pressure to your day. Felix will also be teaching a Rubber Stamp Carving Workshop the same afternoon, a perfect add on to this workshop.
