Dive into Embroidery: Beginners Workshop Ever wanted to have a go at embroidery and can't commit to a course? This is a fun one day workshop taught by embroidery tutor Amy Burt, that introduces you to some of the core embroidery stitches as well as learning some fun extras. You'll work on a playful, contemporary design featuring a diver making a splash, complete with flowing water and colourful details. Over the course of the day, you'll explore essential embroidery stitches including running stitch, back stitch, whipped stitch, French knots, chain stitch, applique, beading, and woven wheels. You'll also learn how to add sequins and work with leather applique to create texture and interest in your piece. Working on linen with a pre-printed design, you'll build confidence and skills as you bring this cheerful scene to life, stitch by stitch. Each technique will be demonstrated and practised, giving you plenty of time to master the basics. By the end of the day, you'll have completed your own embroidered piece to take home and the skills to continue your creative journey. This workshop is designed for beginners, so no experience is necessary. All materials and tools are provided, including your embroidery hoop, linen, threads, beads, sequins, leather, and needles. Just bring yourself and a willingness to learn something new. All material costs are included in the fee. Amy is a professional hand embroidery artist and trained Royal School of Needlework tutor. She has been teaching for over 10 years and spent many years working as a haute couture embroiderer in the fashion industry for McQueen, Erdem, and Ralph & Russo. She was part of the team working on King Charles III's Coronation embroidery and has exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts. www.ladybembroidery.co.uk Date: Saturday 28 March 2026 Time: 10:30am to 3:30pm Location: Bus Stop Studios, 53 London Road, St Leonards on Sea, TN37 6AY Price: £70 standard / £55 reduced low income rate We offer a reduced rate for those on low incomes. If you are able to pay the standard fee, this helps support our tutors and makes classes more accessible to everyone. We keep class sizes small to ensure everyone receives plenty of support. Terms & Conditions for Class Bookings Please note: Most of our classes are designed for adults. If you're unsure whether a class is suitable for you or someone you're booking for, please get in touch before booking. Bookings & Payments • You can book places on our classes, workshops and events via our website or in person at Bus Stop Studios, 53 London Road, St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex TN37 6AY. • All bookings are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place. • You will receive a booking confirmation by email once your payment has been processed. Materials • Materials and tools vary depending on the class. Please refer to the individual course description for details. Feel free to contact us with any questions in advance. Cancellations & Changes • Bookings are non-refundable. • Due to our small class sizes, it is usually not possible to transfer bookings to another date. • If you notify us at least 14 days in advance, we may be able to offer a transfer or credit note, subject to availability. • If you contact us 7 days before the class, we may be able to offer an alternative date, but this is not guaranteed. The more notice you give, the better chance we can help. • If you cannot attend, you may send someone else in your place. Please inform us of their name before the class. Cancellations by Us • In the rare case that we need to cancel a class, workshop or event, you will receive a full refund. • Our liability is limited to the cost of the class only. We are not responsible for any additional costs such as travel, accommodation, or pre-purchased materials. Insurance & Professional Standards • Bus Stop Studios is fully insured for all classes and workshops. • All of our tutors carry their own Public Liability Insurance (PLI) and are experienced professionals in their field.
