Intro to Goldwork Embroidery: Nefertiti (1-day workshop) Join Bus Stop Studios founder Amy Burt for a relaxed, inspiring day learning the foundations of goldwork embroidery, using the beautiful Nefertiti design from her Lady B Embroidery kit collection. This workshop is beginner-friendly, but also ideal if you have some experience and want to build confidence with traditional techniques in a supportive setting. You will be guided step-by-step through the project, learning a range of core methods used in goldwork. You will leave with a strong start on your own embroidered Nefertiti piece, plus the skills to continue at home. Level: Suitable for beginners and those with some experience What you’ll learn: Across the day we will cover felt padding, twist and pearl purl outlines, combination couching, chipping, and cutwork, with plenty of time for questions and individual support. What’s included: Your workshop price includes the full Lady B Embroidery kit, including a 6 inch hoop, turquoise linen with the design printed, calico, a selection of threads and goldwork materials (including pearl purl, smooth purl, and bright check), plus the needles and essentials you will need to work the piece. Materials: All materials & tools are included in the course price. Just bring glasses if you need them!! This course is taught in a very small group setting, with plenty of individual guidance & support. About the tutor: Amy Burt is ta professional hand embroiderer the founder of Bus Stop Studios and a Royal School of Needlework (RSN) Tutor with 10+ years’ teaching experience, with haute couture training & credits including King Charles III’s Coronation embroidery. To keep things fair & sustainable, reduced-fee places are now limited rather than open to everyone. Terms & Conditions for Class Bookings Most of our classes are designed for adults. If you are unsure whether a class is suitable, please contact us before booking. Bookings & Payments - Classes, workshops and events can be booked via our website or in person at Bus Stop Studios, 53 London Road, St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex TN37 6AY. - Bookings are first come, first served. - Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place. (please see below for payment options) - A booking confirmation will be sent by email once payment has been processed. Pricing & Supported Places - As a small independent business, our class fees help cover running costs, tutor pay, preparation time and associated expenses. - We may offer 1-2 lower income or supported places on selected courses, subject to availability. - These must be requested by email before booking and are offered at our discretion. - If the cost of a longer course feels difficult to manage, please contact us before booking and we may be able to discuss options such as a payment plan. Materials - Materials and tools vary by class. Please check the course description for details. Cancellations & Changes - Bookings are non-refundable. - Transfers are usually not possible due to small class sizes. - With at least 14 days' notice, we may be able to offer a transfer or credit note, subject to availability. - With 7 days' notice, we may be able to offer an alternative date, but this is not guaranteed. -If you cannot attend, you may send someone else in your place. Please let us know their name before the class. Cancellations by Us - If we need to cancel a class, workshop or event, you will receive a full refund. - Our liability is limited to the cost of the class only. Insurance & Copyright - Bus Stop Studios is fully insured for all classes and workshops, and all tutors hold their own Public Liability Insurance. - Course content, handouts, photography and designs are for personal use only and may not be copied, shared or used for teaching or commercial purposes without written permission. Photography - We may occasionally take photographs during classes for marketing or social media. - We will always ask permission before taking or using identifiable images. - Please let us know in advance if you have any concerns about photography.
