Learn to Sew in a Weekend Taught by Lauren from Sew Cosy Patterns Always wanted to get to grips with a sewing machine? This friendly, hands-on weekend summer school is perfect for complete beginners: no experience needed & no sewing machine required. We will provide everything you need. Across the weekend, you will create four stylish & practical projects, each designed to build your skills & confidence. You will finish with a set of completed makes, reusable patterns & instructions, plus a couple of bonus projects to try at home. Projects include: - Pencil case - Glasses case - Drawstring bag - iPad/Kindle case Techniques covered: - Inserting a zip - Creating a drawstring channel - Sewing on buttons - Adding elastic - Attaching magnetic clasps Materials: All materials & tools are included in the course price. Just bring glasses if you need them, tie long hair back, & wear closed shoes. This course is taught in a very small group setting, with plenty of individual guidance & support. Dates & time: 15th - 16th August 2026 10:30am - 12:30pm & 1:30pm - 3:30pm (one hour lunch break) Location: Bus Stop Studios, 53 London Road, St Leonards-on-Sea, TN37 6AY Price: £155 - Materials included Keeping classes accessible: Like many small businesses, we’re seeing rising costs, so we’ve made a small increase to our course prices. To keep things fair & sustainable, reduced-fee places are now limited rather than open to everyone. If cost is a barrier, please reach out: we can offer payment plans & once the course has enough bookings to run, a small number of reduced-fee places where possible. Terms & Conditions for Class Bookings Most of our classes are designed for adults. If you are unsure whether a class is suitable, please contact us before booking. Bookings & Payments - Classes, workshops and events can be booked via our website or in person at Bus Stop Studios, 53 London Road, St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex TN37 6AY. - Bookings are first come, first served. - Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place. (please see below for payment options) - A booking confirmation will be sent by email once payment has been processed. Pricing & Supported Places - As a small independent business, our class fees help cover running costs, tutor pay, preparation time and associated expenses. - We may offer 1-2 lower income or supported places on selected courses, subject to availability. - These must be requested by email before booking and are offered at our discretion. - If the cost of a longer course feels difficult to manage, please contact us before booking and we may be able to discuss options such as a payment plan. Materials - Materials and tools vary by class. Please check the course description for details. Cancellations & Changes - Bookings are non-refundable. - Transfers are usually not possible due to small class sizes. - With at least 14 days' notice, we may be able to offer a transfer or credit note, subject to availability. - With 7 days' notice, we may be able to offer an alternative date, but this is not guaranteed. -If you cannot attend, you may send someone else in your place. Please let us know their name before the class. Cancellations by Us - If we need to cancel a class, workshop or event, you will receive a full refund. - Our liability is limited to the cost of the class only. Insurance & Copyright - Bus Stop Studios is fully insured for all classes and workshops, and all tutors hold their own Public Liability Insurance. - Course content, handouts, photography and designs are for personal use only and may not be copied, shared or used for teaching or commercial purposes without written permission. Photography - We may occasionally take photographs during classes for marketing or social media. - We will always ask permission before taking or using identifiable images. - Please let us know in advance if you have any concerns about photography.
