Mend & Make Do: A Day of Visible Mending with Amy Burt Join embroidery artist & Bus Stop Studios founder Amy Burt, aka Lady B Embroidery, for a full day workshop dedicated to the art of visible mending. Learn to repair, revive & reimagine your favourite garments with hand stitched charm & creative flair. In this relaxed & friendly class, you'll explore a range of decorative & practical techniques to patch, darn & stitch new life into well loved clothes, whether it's denim, knitwear or kids' clothes. All with a sustainable, slow fashion approach. We'll cover: Sashiko inspired patching & decorative stitches Hand darning techniques for knitwear Mending delicate fabrics What's included: Expert tuition with Amy All materials provided: threads, patches, hoops, sample fabric, darning mushrooms & needles A take home repair kit to keep you stitching beyond the studio Bring up to 3 garments to mend, ideally at least one knitwear piece & one regular item of clothing. You're welcome to bring your own sewing kit, threads or favourite fabrics too. Workshop schedule: 10:30am to 12:30pm: patching & sashiko stitching 12:30pm to 1:30pm: lunch break, bring your own or pop out locally 1:30pm to 3:30pm: darning for knitwear, plus extra techniques if time allows Amy has taught at the Royal School of Needlework since 2016, worked for Alexander McQueen, Erdem & Ralph & Russo & contributed to King Charles III's Coronation embroidery. www.ladybembroidery.co.uk Good to know Small classes, suitable for all levels from complete beginners to confident stitchers. Our classroom is downstairs, reached by stairs with railings, so do get in touch about access. Please be sure to read our T&Cs before booking, as a small business we can't always offer refunds. Keeping classes accessible Like many small businesses, we're seeing rising costs, so we've made a small increase to our course prices. To keep things fair and sustainable, reduced-fee places are now limited rather than open to everyone. Cancellation Policy
Terms & Conditions for Class Bookings Most classes are for adults. If unsure whether a class suits you, please contact us before booking. Bookings & Payments Book via our website or in person at Bus Stop Studios, 53 London Road, St Leonards on Sea, TN37 6AY. Bookings are first come, first served. Full payment is required when booking, unless you choose a payment plan or membership. Materials vary, see each course description. A confirmation email will be sent once payment has been processed. Payment Plans & Memberships Some longer courses can be paid monthly or offer a membership, as shown in the course description. By choosing one, you’re booking the whole term, course or membership period and agreeing to make all payments, which are taken automatically each month by card. Any course policy applies alongside these terms. Drop in Lessons Some classes offer pay as you go drop in lessons when there’s space and enough students for the class to run. Please email hello@busstopstudios.com first to check. Pricing & Supported Places We may offer 1 to 2 supported places on selected courses, at our discretion. Please request these by email before booking. If a longer course feels difficult to manage, check whether a payment plan is available or contact us. Location & Access From December 2026, classes take place in our downstairs classroom, reached by stairs with railings. Please contact us before booking about any access needs. Cancellations & Changes You can cancel up to 14 days before the class, or the first session of a multi week course, for a full refund. Within 14 days, bookings are non-refundable, but you’re welcome to send someone else in your place. Please let us know their name before the class. If we can fill your place from our waiting list, we’ll offer you a [refund / credit note]. Missed sessions on a course, payment plan or membership can’t be refunded or credited. Cancellations by Us If we cancel a class, you’ll receive a full refund. Our liability is limited to the cost of the class. Insurance & Copyright Bus Stop Studios is fully insured and all tutors hold their own Public Liability Insurance. Course content, handouts, photography and designs are for personal use only and may not be copied, shared or used commercially without written permission. Photography We may take photos during classes for marketing or social media, and will always ask before using identifiable images. Please let us know if you have any concerns.
