Service Description
Message in Sky: Online Bayeux Tapestry Inspired Embroidery Class with Amy Burt To celebrate the return of the Bayeux Tapestry to the UK, join Amy live on Zoom from wherever you are in the world. Over two relaxed Saturday afternoons you’ll learn the famous Bayeux stitch, used in the original nearly a thousand years ago, alongside stem, chain, split, back & satin stitch & French knots. You’ll stitch “Message in Sky”, Amy’s exclusive design inspired by the scene where Halley’s Comet blazes across the sky & onlookers take it as an omen. Your kit is posted to you before the class & includes hand printed Boston twill, DMC Eco Vita naturally dyed woollen threads, hoop, needles & an instruction booklet, all in a hand printed box. Who is this for? Anyone, anywhere. Suitable for most levels, including those with some embroidery experience. About your tutor Amy Burt is a professional hand embroiderer & founder of Bus Stop Studios. Trained at the Royal School of Needlework, she has worked with London fashion houses & teaches on the RSN hand embroidery degree. Each kit is hand printed & packed by Amy in Hastings under her own brand, Lady B Embroidery. Good to know Classes are small so everyone gets plenty of time with Amy. You’ll need a Zoom account & a good internet connection to join, & your link will be in your order confirmation email. To make sure everyone has their kit in time, international bookings close two weeks before the first class. Please check our Terms & Conditions before booking, as a small business we can’t always offer refunds. Keeping classes accessible Like many small businesses, we’re seeing rising costs, so we’ve made a small increase to our course prices. To keep things fair and sustainable, reduced-fee places are now limited rather than open to everyone. If cost is a barrier, please reach out: we can offer payment plans and, for classes that are going ahead, a small number of reduced-fee places where possible. Thanks for supporting Bus Stop Studios.
