This relaxed, friendly course is perfect for absolute beginners and confident improvers alike. Whether you’re picking up needles for the first time or ready to build on the basics, Katie will guide you through everything you need to gain confidence and enjoy the meditative magic of knitting. Portrait Drawing Course: Foundations & Expression Join artist Clarissa Shanahan for a four-week course focused on the essentials of portrait drawing. Across four weekly three-hour sessions, you’ll explore how to capture the human face with both accuracy and expression. We’ll cover: Anatomy, proportion and the “math” of the face Gesture, line, contour, shading and value Building depth and volume through light and shadow Techniques to bring character and life into your portraits Each session includes working from a live model, with hands-on instruction and personal guidance to support your growth and confidence. This friendly, mixed ability group is perfect for: Anyone who has completed the first three levels of our French courses Learners who are already comfortable with simple conversations and ready to stretch their skills further This is not a group for complete beginners. It is designed for people who already have some confidence with French and want to keep building on what they know. The sessions are mainly conversational, giving you plenty of opportunity to practise speaking and listening in real-life contexts. There will also be written and reading exercises to strengthen grammar, vocabulary and comprehension, so you feel more confident in every area of your French. It is mostly a conversational class, giving you plenty of opportunity to speak and listen, but there will also be written and reading assignments to strengthen your understanding of grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure. This 3 part course is an exclusive opportunity to learn silk & metal thread embroidery, combining classic embroidery stitches with specialist metalwork techniques. The striking design uses fine metallic threads, silk & wool in rich fuchsia pinks & mossy golds to create a vibrant & dimensional embroidery. Becky will guide you through every stage of the project with step-by-step demonstrations & expert tips to help you achieve a professional finish.
