Service Description
Message in Sky: Bayeux Tapestry Inspired Embroidery Workshop with Amy Burt To celebrate the return of the Bayeux Tapestry to the UK, we’re bringing a little of it home to Hastings. Learn the famous Bayeux stitch, used to stitch the original nearly a thousand years ago, alongside stem, chain, split, back & satin stitch & French knots. You’ll stitch “Message in Sky”, Amy’s exclusive design inspired by the scene where Halley’s Comet blazes across the sky & onlookers take it as an omen. Everything is provided: hand printed Boston twill, DMC Eco Vita naturally dyed woollen threads, hoop, needles & an instruction booklet, all in a hand printed box to take home. Suitable for most levels, including those with some embroidery experience. Amy Burt is a professional hand embroiderer & founder of Bus Stop Studios. Trained at the Royal School of Needlework, she has worked with London fashion houses & teaches on the RSN hand embroidery degree. She designs & hand prints each kit herself in Hastings under her own brand, Lady B Embroidery. Like many small businesses, we’re seeing rising costs, so we’ve made a small increase to our course prices. To keep things fair and sustainable, reduced-fee places are now limited rather than open to everyone. If cost is a barrier, please reach out: we can offer payment plans and, for classes that are going ahead, a small number of reduced-fee places where possible. Classes are small so everyone gets plenty of time with Amy. Please check our Terms & Conditions before booking, as a small business we can’t always offer refunds. From December our classroom is downstairs, reached by a staircase with railings, so do get in touch if you’d like to chat before you book. Thanks for supporting Bus Stop Studios. Can't make this class? Don't worry we'll also be running a 2 part online option. please see our website class listings page for more info Dates, time & location Saturday 16th January 2027, 10:30 am to 4:30pm (one hour for lunch) £120, including your £45.99 “Message in Sky” kit Bus Stop Studios, 53 London Road, St Leonards on Sea, TN37 6AY
