Collage Some Sun Workshop In this uplifting collage class you'll create your own sunshine to blast you with dopamine through the darker months. No skills are required, there is no perfectionism or judgement, and the emphasis lies on delight, pleasure and play. Make your collage however you want, but if you'd like guidance, here are some example ideas: All the yellows - make a big bright sun to get you through the winter. All the skies - collage all the bits of sunny sky that you can find! Dopamine menu - a celebration of things that light you up inside (bring photos and other ephemera if going with this option). Summer memory collage (bring photos and other ephemera if going with this option). Make up your own adventure - scroll the available sources and use what you find to make yourself a collage that brings you joy. Materials: If you have photos, packaging or other paper ephemera you'd like to incorporate, please bring them along! Felix will supply a range of different papers, magazines and ink-pads and rubber stamps that can be used in your collage. Scissors, pritt stick and card will be supplied but if you have a favourite pair of scissors or a special notebook in which you'd like to work, please bring them to use. About Your Tutor Felix Ford is a mischievous neurodivergent disabled artist. Her work foregrounds the preciousness of our daily lives and the necessity of play. Her PhD explored The Domestic Soundscape as a special site of meaning, after which she ran KNITSONIK for a decade, teaching people to celebrate daily life in stranded colourwork hand-knits. Arthritis has curtailed Felix's knitting career and she is exploring new forms. She runs a one-of-a-kind online art school where she cultivates practices of whimsy, collaging and journaling as forms of resistance against late-stage capitalist grind-culture and the attention economy. Terms & Conditions for Class Bookings Most of our classes are designed for adults. If you are unsure whether a class is suitable, please contact us before booking. Bookings & Payments - Classes, workshops and events can be booked via our website or in person at Bus Stop Studios, 53 London Road, St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex TN37 6AY. - Bookings are first come, first served. - Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place. (please see below for payment options) - A booking confirmation will be sent by email once payment has been processed. Pricing & Supported Places - As a small independent business, our class fees help cover running costs, tutor pay, preparation time and associated expenses. - We may offer 1-2 lower income or supported places on selected courses, subject to availability. - These must be requested by email before booking and are offered at our discretion. - If the cost of a longer course feels difficult to manage, please contact us before booking and we may be able to discuss options such as a payment plan. Materials - Materials and tools vary by class. Please check the course description for details. Cancellations & Changes - Bookings are non-refundable. - Transfers are usually not possible due to small class sizes. - With at least 14 days' notice, we may be able to offer a transfer or credit note, subject to availability. - With 7 days' notice, we may be able to offer an alternative date, but this is not guaranteed. -If you cannot attend, you may send someone else in your place. Please let us know their name before the class. Cancellations by Us - If we need to cancel a class, workshop or event, you will receive a full refund. - Our liability is limited to the cost of the class only. Insurance & Copyright - Bus Stop Studios is fully insured for all classes and workshops, and all tutors hold their own Public Liability Insurance. - Course content, handouts, photography and designs are for personal use only and may not be copied, shared or used for teaching or commercial purposes without written permission. Photography - We may occasionally take photographs during classes for marketing or social media. - We will always ask permission before taking or using identifiable images. - Please let us know in advance if you have any concerns about photography.
